Meet the dedicated individuals who lead WQRC with passion, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to building Queer+ community.

Board Members

Chair/Treasurer

Jamie Phillips she/her

Jamie focuses on finances, fundraising, networking, communications, and IT/admin. She is passionate about building queer community and being queers serving our larger community.

Interim Vice Chair

Ethan Wheeler he/him

Ethan focuses on helping connect people to basic needs and resources. He is passionate about education, for those both within and outside of the queer community.

Julie Park she/her

Julie focuses on connecting queer folks outside of Portland through partnered events, outreach, and new programming. Her goal is to identify what's missing for the queer community in WashCo, and help develop much needed resources and welcoming spaces.

Miranda focuses on running the gaming program, family and youth work and answering emails. She is passionate about promoting inclusivity and supporting queer community safe spaces.

Amber Davis Ota they/she

Amber is passionate about helping the WQRC recognize and support the diverse, intersecting identities that make up our vibrant Queer+ community.

Katharine Weisbrodt she/they

Katharine focuses on communications, fundraising, and activities involving being active or outdoors. She is passionate about providing a safe space and promoting positive mental health outcomes in the queer community.

Evelyn Kocher she/her

Evelyn focuses on helping the board with processes and building connections with other organizations. She is passionate about building intersectional community connections and helping the WQRC construct a strong organizational foundation.

Sofia Bieniak she/her

Sofia focuses on family and youth work, event planning, and community outreach. Her main goal is to create and sustain long lasting relationships focusing on uplifting the diversity of Washington county.

Mel Sienko they/them

Mel focuses on programming and volunteer organizing. They are passionate about building a welcoming and affirming community and providing spaces where everyone feels seen and heard.

Kathleen Perry she/they

Kathleen moved to Washington County in 2010 to pursue a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science, and became passionate about making her community welcoming and accessible to as many people as possible. They enjoy volunteering, having served on the Library Advisory Board, Housing Technical Advisory Group, and the Loop Community Advisory Committee.

Ray focuses on fundraising and communications. They are passionate about building a sense of community for queer people.
